Community Access Program
About the Project
The NCPC has supported many projects at the Fort Hall Reservation through the Community Access Program, including clothing drives, a Mural Project for reservation youth, and the donation of Christmas gifts through the Salt Lake Dance Community.
NCPC has found a way in which the members of local communities, no matter what their economic situation, can give clothing and books that honors the tradition of "give back". Since 2005 NCPC has sponsored a successful clothing drive. All of the dance communities from around the country get together and donate much-needed winter clothing to the program.

The NCPC also supported the Mural Project, to help teach young people a new skill and to instill pride. The participating youth received a small stipend, and a local artist was contracted to help coordinate the project.

Thank you NCPC!
Dear Clyde and the Board members of the NCPC and the community members,
Susie Buckskin, the Director of the the Community Access Program, and the entire staff wanted to take the time to thank you and your organization for all the assistance you have provided the program in the past year.
Thanks to the members of the Community and your organization, you have all touched many lives on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. One of the many stories, comes to mind. Just last week a mother with two kids came in the office seeking help. She just got a job and needed work clothing. She was able to fit the clothes one your members sent. This really brightened up her day and made her feel better about herself. Now she can go to work and not worry about how she looks. The clothing someone donated helped change her life for the better.
The problem with poverty, as some of you may know, is it's not only an economic thing, it brings down the entire family and the community as a whole. We see people everyday that need just a little lift. To someone who needs that sweater you sent or a pair of pants that you sent us, or a child who needs a new coat to stay warm, what seems like a small gift to you, means the world to them.
Sincerely,
Susie Buckskin-C.A.P. Director
