New Development Director Announced

The NCPC is pleased to announce that Sizzle Moon Song is NCPC’s first Development Director, otherwise known as a Fundraising Coordinator. A long-time and devoted Naraya dancer whom many of you know, he has a long and distinguished career as a professional fundraiser, and we are happy to have him aboard to help us extend our reach! In this current economy we know that proactive planning and focused campaign strategies will help us continue to grow.

Message From Sizzle:

In this time of giving thanks for all in our lives that we are most grateful for, I wish to openly share how moved I am to have each and every one of you all in my life. For this I am truly, purely filled with gratitude beyond words...

Now I have the immense pleasure and excitement to be working with you all through NCPC as the first Development Director/Fundraising Coordinator. I feel that everything in my life has led me to this very point to effect change as we support the traditions of the Great Basin and beyond. It is my clear intention to do this in a good way, to foster new growth with creative new funding ideas, allowing NCPC to spread its mission and roots in the collective consciousness, hearts, and minds of the people.

In addition, I call upon each of you to sit with, then share a vision or story of how NCPC has touched and affected your life— not just with those you know and love, but also with those who could help or benefit. Who knows whom spirit will guide you to as you talk about NCPC, and how helping preserve a culture has enriched your life and the life of others? Be a living testimony to the power of the Dance of Change, spreading the seeds of transformation into all the Directions...

Finally, if in this season of giving you find you do not need more ‘things’ in your life, consider an offering, a gift with meaning on behalf of those you know and love. Remember no gift is too large or too small if it comes from the heart.

Development Director Goals

• Develop New Fundraising Strategies— implement new fundraising strategies to broaden the outreach beyond the Naraya Dancer community

• Design and Implement a Major Donor Annual Fund Campaign — brainstorm prospects for major donor gifts, learn about what they like to fund, and cultivate their interest in supporting NCPC

• Research foundations and government entities as possible grant sources — cultivate interest, learn guidelines, develop an approach which would be fundable by them, write the grant

• Coordinate Special Campaigns— develop other campaigns such as auctions and other special events (also creating timelines); seek inkind gifts (such as airline miles, etc.); develop other campaign ideas and other outreach plans

• Seek Out Education of Non-profit Fundraising Strategies— research the latest non-profit fundraising techniques to help broaden NCPC horizons; seek out consultation from other persons in non-profit who may have ideas and suggestions for NCPC

• Map Out Newsletter Campaign Strategies— develop a Newsletter schedule for the year detailing how many times a year, timeline schedules for writing, board scrutiny & approval, layout & graphic design, tweaking stage, printing and/or emailing.
